The rose garden hosts a botanical collection of China roses and of the main classes of roses related to them. The choice of these varieties was due both to their botanical importance and to their historical link to tea. As we have already said, indeed, we raise funds to finance our conservation project with tea parties and tea related events, so the choice couldn’t be a different one.

In the following pages, you’ll find the photos of the roses that are growing on the garden at the moment. They are subdivided by class and in each page you’ll find an introduction with some information about their history or their main characteristics.

We’ve tried to list each class in chronological order according to the period when it was created and introduced on the market. It was quite a hard task as some of them appeared more or less in the same years.

We hope you’ll enjoy this virtual visit to our Heritage Rose Garden and the beauty of our roses.
