From Australia to Murta with love

The seasonal opening of Murta Rose Garden could not fail to bring us excitement. After a long and torrid summer in which our roses demonstrated how resilient they are, their blooms returned fill our hearts with beauty, serving as a setting for encounters and stories.

On Saturday, September 17, the gate opened again to offer visitors a journey through tea, roses and memory.

The first guest of the afternoon was Tea Sommelier Barbara Vola, who for a couple of years has been hosting a column dedicated to roses and to our rose garden on her prestigious blog. It was interesting to listen to her stories and realize, once again, that tea is culture, tradition and emotion. We had already met Barbara virtually some time ago: here is the IG live from the Rose Garden.

Barbara’s visit to Genoa coincided, totally by chance, with the arrival of a special guest from Australia. This gave us the opportunity to tell about the roses produced by Australian breeder Allister Clark that will be planted next to Bridge over the Rio Ciliegio and along the Way of the roses.  I wrote about Australian roses on Barbara’s blog a month ago:

The afternoon ended with Paul, arrived from Australia to leave a plaque in memory of his grandmother buried in our cemetery in the 1930s. A moment of recollection led by Murta Parish Priest Don Alejandro gave way to Paul’s moving remembrance than he was finally able to fulfil his dad’s wish: returning to Italy to say goodbye to Grandma Angela. This moving story was told by Maria Franca in this video on our YouTube channel:

There could not be a better new beginning for our Rose Garden, follow us because the fall will be rich in interesting events!
